What If, dear friend, struggle ends NOW.

Edvard Munch, “The Scream”

What If, you lived with ease and acceptance due to your belief that we are all eternal and are ALL reflections of God’s love, God’s light, on our physical journey back to Source.

What If, you believed, as Christ taught us (Gandhi, Martin Luther King, too) that when someone hurts you, he is hurting himself, because we are all ONE. And if we are all ONE— but some of us have forgotten and are behaving badly and hurting themselves (as they hurt us)—our belief in this truth will urge us to try to do as we are taught: to forgive them, as Christ forgave those who tortured Him on the cross saying: “they know not what they do.”

What If, every time you thought (or said) a resentful, hateful, angry, revengeful, complaining, bitter thought (or word) about someone else, (or about some unloving ‘truth’ you have made up for yourself, for your life) you stopped, and reminded yourself, this is just a thought. I can think something else.

What If, after you see that thoughts can be changed, you looked deeper, with compassion, about the thoughts that flow unchecked. Where do they come from? They are not my struggle, you say. These are just thoughts. They do not reflect your reality, or your world, or the prospect of a dismal future, or your, or anyone’s, ability.

What If you say to yourself these are just thoughts I am thinking, because I have become comfortable thinking them, and perhaps they were aimed at defining, or controlling, my world. You will see they were not productive, nor true. These thoughts will manifest exactly as you think they will, if you do not change them. For instance, thoughts like: I don’t make enough money. I should be further along by now. He’s a narcissist and will always behave this way. He tricked me into marrying him. What if I marry another narcissist? I can’t lose weight. This is how it will go, it will take a long time to heal. I’m not ready. She’s so negative, but I love her anyway. I can’t afford it. It will take two years, or more, to work off my debt. These negative thoughts can be changed, in order to change reality. Because reality is what you think it is. If thoughts are not changed, then you are right about every thought you share. But I do not want to be a co-conspirator with you as I listen. Because I believe you are loved infinitely. You are beautiful. You were hurt by someone who loves you so much, he agreed to come into this lifetime with you so you can both work out karmic lessons with each other. It is beautiful. You are exactly where you are meant to be. Miracles happen every day, why not today? A perfect job, the perfect client, they can all come in an instant. These are the thoughts I think when I listen to you, but I can not tell them to you, you are not ready. But if I sit and listen, I am co-conspiring to create more struggle for you. I do not wish to do this anymore.

What If, every time you had a negative thought, like when you get angry about what your Ex did, or about the money in your banking account, or about ‘where you aught to be in life,’ you stopped yourself and took a deep breath and said, ‘thank you God for letting me pause. Thank you God for letting me see these are just negative thoughts. They are not me. They are just thoughts. And these thoughts stem from programming from childhood, from fear, from anger, from a need to control, from comparison to others, from a lack of trust in the Universe and in You. Thank you God for being there for me. Thank you God for helping me shape my reality as I am pure Source Energy, pure Source Light and I want to let go of these negative thoughts manifesting more struggle, so that I can flow with love and grace into a loving, safe, secure present moment. Because in the present moment. All is well. And if it is not, I give it to you, God. Please take the pain and help me see what it is I am to learn to be free of negativity.’

What If, when you notice your resistance to what I am saying, you stop, you pause, take two deep breaths in, and two deeper breaths out. Listen carefully to what I am saying, even though I have drifted from you. I love you. God loves you. Your guides love you. Everything that has happened to you, is a part of your journey to wholeness. You say you understand, but then you are still angry. Still, you say, I am trying to heal and it will take a very long time. I know that I am not making enough money and I know that I can’t do bla bla bla. These are thoughts. Please take a deep breath, surrender, meditate in child’s pose and ask God to lift this hold on a dark reality that you are keeping close to you through these thoughts.

What If, it doesn’t take years and years to ‘recover and heal.’

What If, healing, or rebounding, takes a moment. Like a door opening, bathing you in God’s Light, that you walk though, and then the door of your past reality closes behind you.

What If, healing merely takes the knowledge that you are not alone. That you are eternal.

What If, healing requires the acknowledgement that no one hurt you without your permission, or without you signing up for the lesson on your spiritual journey before entering this physical plain. NO, none of us want to be lied to, betrayed, etc. But there are factors at work in the Universe and things that occurred before we entered our physical bodies, that created a network of karmic events we have chosen to live, breathe through. Can you trust that? If not, can you trust God?

What If you meditated every day and listened for your guides, your intuition, to help you?

What If you read every day for 15-30 minutes from one of the masters: (even if you read them years ago) Bhagavad Gita; A Course in Miracles; anything by: Wayne Dyer, Melodie Beattie, Ram Dass, Eckhardt Tolle, Deepak Chopra, Louise Hay.

What If, you began to look in the mirror and say to yourself: I love you. I love you so much. I am safe. I am happy. I love and approve of you and you deserve love, acceptance, abundance, health, vitality. Everything is working out for my highest good. I am abundant. I am supported. Joy flows through my veins with every beat of my heart. Thank you. Thank you so much for letting me shift my thoughts and shift my reality.

What If, you prayed, saying: I know I am not merely flesh and bones. I am eternal. I don’t know why I was hurt, but the teachers are eternal too. Let me not think bad thoughts about them, or say bad things about them, (hurting myself more in the process). Let me become grateful for the lessons. I know YOU are here to help me. Please help me trust the process. Help me find my dharma to fulfill my highest purpose that serves you. Help lift me out of the survival struggle that no one on Earth is meant to live in. I am willing to see the guides, the opportunities, the miracles as they present themselves to me. I am willing to be a vehicle for your love.

What If, you began to drop the story of you needing to heal.

What If, you believed that you are already healed, through God’s love.

What If, you played disco and danced, in your house, alone, once a week to lift your vibration.

What If, you went to yoga or walked four times a week.

What If, you gave up fast food and soda.

What If, the struggle ends today. Right NOW. With the very thought that it is over in this present moment.

I write this dear friend to you, and as a reminder to myself. It is one thing to acknowledge these truths, and it is another to live with them near and dear to your heart. Whenever I am off track, I will remember that today, I can begin again. And in this present moment, nothing from the past can hurt me. All is well.

And I love you.

You are the PATH: Loving from the Inside OUT

rebelwithin

Everything you seek is within. This is what the world’s wisdom seekers say. And it’s true. But that may be hard for you to feel where you are right now. Most of us seek ‘things’ from others. We have been given messages from a very early age that imply someone will save us, complete us, rescue us. The prince on a white horse is you. The angel to save you from your reckless ways and addictions is you.

YOU are the PATH.

To some, that feels like a lonely journey. I understand. This message does not suggest that you live as a hermit meditating your days away by yourself in a remote mountain village. A journey to wholeness does not require such sacrifice. But in order to attract unconditional love, acceptance, compassion, support, forgiveness from others— you must first give it to YOURSELF. As Deepak Chopra says, “You can not receive what you do not give yourself.”

If you look to others to complete you, to fill an empty void, you ultimately become frustrated, disappointed and filled with ego-centric self loathing and victimhood. When we seek external approval, success, money, or another person who may ‘fit’ a long laundry list of what we think we want, we become lost and disconnected to what really matters in life and to our true self.

Ask a cancer patient what is important in life. Another healthy and playful moment with their child? Another hour snuggling in bed with their lover? Feeling sun on her face while sipping tea in a favorite chair with a beloved pet in her lap. Walking with a good friend out in nature. These moments are what fill us up. We connect with our highest self in these times. And we connect on a deeper level with those we love, because we are reflecting our highest selves. We are connecting in a pure, authentic, vulnerable manner.

So we must peel back the layers, the fears, the wounds that keep us from living purely and authentically. Create a loving relationship with yourself first, then you will find your PATH, find your TRIBE and begin connections on deep levels.

One reason people have a hard time keeping connections with others is due to a fear of vulnerability. We fear being judged. We fear being abandoned and hurt because we have been abandoned or hurt in the past. But the reality is that in order to truly love and be intimate with others, we must be free from the chains of fear. We must love ourselves so fiercely that no one can truly keep us from our center again. Then we know that we will always be safe whether alone or with another. From a fierce, rebel heart, we can connect on a pure level.

So how do we get there? It’s a journey. A journey through meditation, yoga, breath, writing, activity of any sort: running, dancing. For me, meditating has been remarkable. I find stillness and meditate, whether guided with DavidJi or Deepak, or on my own. I feel silence and sit with my feelings and begin to repeat over and over a silent mantra to connect with my light. My favorite is: I AM. SO HUM in Sanskrit. I repeat this over and over and like a whisper from the Universe, whatever follows I AM, I know I already am, but just need a reminder of: I AM LOVE. I AM LIGHT. I AM POWERFUL. I AM ENOUGH…I set my timer to 11 minutes. When I come out of it, I feel connected to all that is and deeply to my eternal light.

Find forgiveness for yourself. Feel what needs to be felt. You are eternal, divine and worthy of love just for being alive. You need not do anything but allow the light in.

Those who have been abused or neglected must feel the wounds to heal them. I know this from personal experience. Find a community, a tribe, a counselor, a support group and begin the journey back home to yourself.

Peace, love, non-violence, acceptance begins with you. You are the PATH. You are a REBEL. You are a Goddess. Nothing that has been done to you—nothing that you have done to cope with your past—defines you. The spark of divine light shines brightly within. Peel back the layers that cover it and shine.

The REBEL in me Bows to the REBEL in you.
